Same Sex Marriage Musically

Gay marriage legal in 29 states and WAshington D.C.

From 2000 to 2014, there have been Constitution and legislative bans gay marriage, Domestic partnerships
became legal then gay marriages performed elsewhere are recognized, civil unions legal and now

Twenty-nine states and Washington, D.C., now allow marriage for same-sex couples.

After  the Supreme Court's June 26, 2013 decision struck down a key part of the
Defense of Marriage Act, same-sex couples that were married in states that allowed it, were entitled to federal
benefits afforded to all other married couples.  Many judges rule same sex marriage bans are unconstitutional
and therefore couples can file jointly, and some can get retroactive tax refunds.

The journey has been a roller coaster. Here is some history in the journey expressed musically
along with quotes from a son of a gay couple, politicians and celebrity quotes.
